Built for Backroads finds and features the best driver-focused cars currently for sale, almost exclusively with manual transmissions. We comb the Internet, from classifieds to forums, uncovering the four-wheel driver gems like the M3, WRX, S2000 and 911.
You had me at Mazda RX-7 on the homepage. ❤️ I have two of them among other drivers cars. I will surely check out the site and also have a few questions to ask here when I have some time later tonight. 🏁
My current 5 cars are: RX-7 FD race car, RX-7 FC race car, Toyota MR2 EXO street/race, 2003 Audi RS6, and my daily is a BMW X5 35d. This is why my new house we're building has a 4 car garage and two lifts. I have problems. Send help. 😂
@cmorefusebit If you can afford all that then we support it. MR2 are becoming the new S2000 for track cars. We also think you might need a 6 car garage :)
@cmorefusebit Doug's carsandbids is really cool as he is turning into the ebay motors of choice while Bring a Trailer is for collectors. We don't feature every car for sale or even every manual out there. We try to focus on those special driver-focused cars so people, like you ,can get a quick glimpse at the site and know exactly the types of cars we're into. We feature automatics like the Supra or some Porsches with PDK but 90% are manual and enthusiast owned.
We site really reflects our personal experience with buying cars. I looked for nine months to find my hawkeye WRX wagon. Flew to SF (from OC) to meet with Randy who was the seller of the WRX wagon I was looking for. We got lunch, test drove the car, and I ended up driving it home. Randy was stoked to sell to me because I strive to care for it, drive it well, and enjoy the connection to the road it brings. We have heard so many stories of enthusiast selling their cars to dealers or even seeing two months later pretty destroyed and sitting in a local parking lot. We know everyone has their reasons for selling and might just want to go from a E36 to a E46 M3, or even jump to a Lotus but really what it comes down to is connecting people so we see more manuals driven for fun and more roads enjoyed.
I started this with my friend Paul and with the help of the talented Logan and Philip. We know it’s a good feeling to find a car owned by another driving enthusiast, a person who wants their special vehicle to go to a good home.
Since we were always sharing those good finds with each other and our passionate friends, we started Built for Backroads so we could share them with the greater car community. So the search is always on, for cars that want to be driven and the people who want to drive them.
@tony_murphy Keep an eye out on the site we have some nice Porsches coming. We filter through hundreds of cars a day to find the few worth sharing on the site.
