Hey everyone, today I'm launching Boycott Buddy — a free consumer transparency tools that allows you to easily search thousands of brands across mega corporations such as Nestlé, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, Kelloggs and more! The business practices of mega-corporations cross ethical lines for many consumers. These corporations make efforts to obscure their involvement in certain brands by purchasing so many companies that it becomes impossible for the average user to keep track. The result is a predatory ability to trick people into financially supporting things they find abhorrent. With Boycott Buddy, I hope to lower the veil on this and provide consumers with the transparency they deserve when making shopping decisions. On this site, users can browse thousands of brands from the most prominent mega-corporations in the world, and read a cited list of reasons that people around the world have begun to boycott them. This project is the follow up to a Nestlé boycott tool that I published last year. This version contains a massively expanded brand library, improved search, and more detailed reasons to conduct a boycott. Happy to hear any feedback anyone may have so that these transparency tools can be as good as they can be! Check out the site here: https://www.boycottbuddy.app

Pretty bold, I would say! And something the world needs now. However, at this rate, you are sure to get some lawsuits along your way. Do you have plans in place to tackle those?
Zachary Jordan
@naomigarcia Interesting question, I'd be curious to know what the nature of the lawsuit would be as all of the information listed on this site is public information, just categorized and made searchable. There is also a disclaimer that information may be inaccurate or out of date, as the data is crowdsourced. If a lawsuit was filed, I would likely crowd fund legal costs, I think there is enough demand for a resource like this to warrant that. Thanks for taking a look at the project!

Congrats on the launch! But here's my opinion: It's a good start, but there is much progress to be made. First, I believe the reason why the company is on the boycott list should be clearly defined with a detailed explanation of the reasons, and reliable sources/references to back up the statement should be provided. I genuinely believe that Boycott Buddy has such outstanding potential to raise awareness and realize its goals, so hopefully, us followers will get to see the improvements! Will be following, wish the team best!!!

@ezgicemrer Hey there! This project actually does include a detailed list of reasons for a potential boycott, with citations so the user can learn more, but I think I could make this a bit more obvious as a few users have said the same thing. The issues sections currently are within individual company pages, here's an example: https://www.boycottbuddy.app/coc... Thanks for checking out the project!
