I saw a talk by Boox CEO Phillip Venn last week, and was really impressed by the simplicity of this service. Boox takes away the need for 'normal' accountancy/bookkeeping services by replacing them with an online service. He's got a team of dedicated accountants, so you'll still get your accounts managed by an expert, but for a lot less money! You can also use the software and apps to manage and keep track of your accounts in real time. I believe this is UK only at the moment, but I'd be interested to know if Phillip has plans to offer Boox internationally.
@riaface fortunately the uk represents such a vast opportunity for Boox and we are obsessed with becoming the accountants of choice for uk freelancers and small businesses. As a result, we do not have any immediate plans to service other territories overseas, but there are many countries with which the UK has a double tax treaty where our software would easily translate with a few small tweaks, so watch this space!
Looks great! Be interested to see how they stack up against Crunch, FreeAgent, Xero etc as in terms of feature set. The ability to do multi currency plus PayPal in FreeAgent is awesome but I still have to pay an accountant.
