👋 Hey Product Hunters!
I'm excited to introduce BookSlice, the ultimate gamified book reader for busy people. 🚀 I noticed my friends (despite their busy schedules) still wanted to read more. I ran an experiment (by accident) to help them, and it was a success! This inspired me to create BookSlice—a way to make reading fun and habitual.
What is BookSlice?
BookSlice is a Telegram bot that uses psychology to turn reading into a habit. For busy people, it makes reading as easy and addictive as checking your messages.
Key Features:
🔹 Gamification: Make reading a game! Set goals, earn streaks, and transform your reading habits.
🔹 Habit Stacking: Integrate reading into your daily routine. If you’re regularly on Telegram, BookSlice can leverage your habit of checking Telegram by sending you custom reminders to read more.
🔹 Read in bite-sizes: Reading a big book can feel overwhelming! BookSlice tries to reduce that feeling by sending you chunks of the book so you can commit to bite-sized texts one at a time.
🔹 AI-Powered Assistance: Get instant answers to your questions about the paragraphs you're reading. Our AI provides in-context responses to enhance your experience.
🔹 Free Trial: Enjoy the first month free! After that, it’s just $2/month with a 100% money-back guarantee if you're not satisfied.
Your feedback is incredibly valuable as I continue to improve BookSlice. Please share any suggestions or issues in the comments.
Thank you for your support, and I hope BookSlice helps you read more books!

@waltertay Congrats on your launch! I love seeing new ideas for getting people to read more. Building out your library is nice and I like that you have the ability to include your own books.
This is so good! I can see myself using this. Since there's an AI element going on, I would suggest adding a 'read next' or a 'suggest a book' feature involving AI, including GoodReads ratings and a link to download the epub or to download automatically. So I just have to search or get recommended a book, and start reading straight up!
Another feature idea would be to have separate chats for each book, I read multiple books at a time and that'll help a lot.
@chandula Hey Chandula thank you so much for the feedback! Great ideas! GoodReads deprecated their API so I wasn't able to query there, but I have a friend building a goodreads alternative and I'll see if I can query book recommendations from there!
Definitely see where you're coming from w.r.t. reading multiple books at the same time! I'll see what I can do!
Thanks again for the detailed comment I appreciate it! Feel free to let me know if you have more feedback!!
I was excited about those, but I would warn caution...the download link does not take you to any app store, the site or takes you to is not secure, then it immediately asks for credit card information. I am NOT saying this isn't legit, but be very cautious and do your research!!!
@kensmithadams Hey Ken! Thanks for the comment. Need to clear up a couple of misunderstandings on your part:
1. The landing page CTA is "https://t.me/BookSliceBot?start". This is a link that brings you to the Telegram app (where BookSlice lives). It does not immediately redirect you to request credit card information
2. You need to press [Start free trial] on the bot in order to actually be redirected to begin a free trial
3. The free trial page is a Stripe page and definitely not "not secure"
4. This is a common user flow for Telegram bot apps. For example see products from: https://x.com/levelsio (434k followers on X)
I do understand how this might have been concerning especially for users unfamiliar to Telegram or the Telegram flow! I'll think about how I can make this better (I'll probably be the first in the industry to do this haha if I do do it)

@waltertay Absolutely, and I appreciate your responding! I may not have started it clearly enough, and I apologize for that... Sincerely, I was not trying to denigrate your program, but more caution anyone with telegram bots to ensure the links are legitimate. The link on the bot goes to what seems like an unsecured website for entering the information, and I would think that would be appreciated by you most of all. I did try to stress that the bot and site may be perfectly fine, but just to be sure.
@kensmithadams Hey Ken, no worries and thanks for the clarification! Let me know if you have more feedback! I do agree with your points on making the flow more clear and will definitely work on it.
