A better way to manage BookmarkX helps you effortlessly manage bookmarks from across the web, including x.com (Twitter). Tag, organize, and search links from your Chrome extension to your dashboard—boosting productivity and streamlining your browsing.
As an avid user of X.com (formerly Twitter) I often use their bookmarking feature to save bookmarks i want to revisit or recall at a later date.
The problem is, due to their very linear bookmark-folder system, it makes this task very tricky. Especially as you start to use it more and more.
Fed up of waiting for X/Twitter to implement a better feature, and having used other, more generic bookmarking tools, I decided to build one specifically for my x/twitter bookmarks.
Something super simple/streamlined, that made saving and exploring my favourite posts a breeze.
So, meet BookmarkX! - The goal is to allow users to easily save their posts via tags & collections. With a goal to make it easier and easier to save posts, and more powerful to find the ones you want.
As I built this product for myself and consider myself a core user, i'm adding features on a weekly basis that make the saving and exploring process better and better.
Give it a whirl and let me know what you think!
@kieranparker77 Congrats on BookmarkX! The way it streamlines saving and organizing bookmarks is impressive. Have you considered leveraging AI for smart categorization or content recommendations? Also, could integrating shared collections make it more social, enabling users to discover posts via community-curated tags?
@tonyabracadabra Thank you so much!
Yes, leveraging AI to improve the experience is high up on the roadmap. And something i really want to integrate.
As for the community features, that is an interesting idea! I am going to add this to the roadmap too - what use cases do you forsee using this for yourself?
@kieranparker77 you should check out tw-rl. :)
Also, if you subscribe to X Premium, you get access to Bookmark Folders. Are you a Premium X subscriber?
Do you offer import or sync with existing bookmark folders?
Hey @chrismessina! tw-rl looks interesting! Love their simplistic approach/styling.
There are a LOT of bookmarking tools out there that i love (And i use a few myself such as Cosmos, Eagle, etc) but as someone who likes to keep my social/tweets separate from my creative/work, a tool dedicated to just social (and in this case x.com specifically) is what i really wanted/needed.
I do subscribe to X Premium, but I feel their bookmark folders are a little linear. and difficult to navigate/explore when you have 100s/1000s of bookmarks. (I also conducted a few user surveys etc and it seems a lot feel a lot of friction when using the built in folder system)
The folders are clunky, hard to edit/manage and based on user interviews feel more like a "save and forget" than a place to actually revisit etc.
I dont offer import of existing bookmarks just yet. I dont want to mass import and clutter a users dashboard. However once i solve that (and any bulk editing/selection) it will be added as i feel bulk import (and maybe even a natural import) would be extremely beneficial!
@busmark_w_nika I have only just started using Bluesky, but i can absolutely see a need for this within that tool too.
Will likely build this and fold it into the extension for allowing it on Bluesky too!
Do you think it would be best to keep the two separate on the dashboard, or one single feed?
