We bring text comparison on a new level: ✅ Detects insertions 🟩 and deletions 🟥 ✅ Detects changed formatting 🟨 ✅ Detects moved sections 🟦 ✅ Detects ✨changes within moved sections✨ See the difference yourself Compare docx, pdf (text only), odt or whatever!
Hi Hunters and Makers,
we are proud to present BlitzCompare, a spin-off of our main product at EDITIVE (we're building the "Github for documents").
BlitzCompare is not just another diff! The big advantages are:
✅ Understands complex structured documents like .docx
✅ Detects moved sections, even if there are small changes within those sections, which are then highlighted separately.
✅ You can navigate between source and destination of those moves by clicking on them
✅ Formatting is shown as an individual type of change, and what has been modified is shown as a tool-tip
👉 Upload your own docs or click on the "Show example" button to have a look for yourself.
⚠️ A note regarding PDF: Please be aware that PDF files contain almost no formatting information, sometimes not even text (only images), therefore results with PDF will depend on the quality of the input file.
♻️ Btw. all uploaded documents are immediately deleted after processing.
Please let us know how we're doing, we appreciate any feedback to make the tool better!
I’m very proud to announce blitzcompare.com today! The underlying HD-Diff engine is the core technology for our future products on our way to “GitHub for Documents”.
Our Vision “GitHub for Documents” is inspired by best practices we use in software engineering, such as version control with branches, forks and merges. To establish a content collaboration hub with branch and merge capabilities, we need to know the differences between versions in the first place. That’s how the idea for blitzcompare.com was born.
Know the difference, to make a difference⚡️
Many thanks to the entire EDITIVE team, our investors, early users and all of our supporters for making this possible!
EDITIVE founder story:
Attention to detail with passion
We started very traditionally, namely at the professorship for Open Source Software at the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU).
As part of our research, we have determined the potential of the diff for text documents and have dealt with it intensively at the university.
Our tech spin-off only emerged from this in the second step. The business model is a content collaboration platform for text documents. The base under the bonnet is the diff.
We are a small team of 6 people and we are building our company with heart and passion for coding.
Especially because we don't have a large marketing budget, we look forward to the community, who are enthusiastic and support us with every like and use case.
