Hello Product Hunters! 🙋‍♂️ I thought the world didn't need another uptime monitoring tool. I thought so when I started using the existing solutions, while my team and I operated website infrastructures small and large throughout the last seven years or so. But we were disappointed by the reliability and general quality of the tools we used. There were never too many outages in our setups, but when there was a problem 🚨 we 100% wanted to know all about it. And vice versa; when our services were purring just fine, we didn't want to be bothered with investigating false alarms. I didn't find a tool good enough to meet our expectations. So I decided to make one. 〰️〰️〰️ Today I would like to show you Binocs - the Uptime Monitoring tool for people who spend most of their work days in the command line 💻 and who are obsessed with reliability and accuracy. For the Devs and Ops and SRE people and everybody in between. 👩🏽‍💻👨‍💻🤖 Binocs provides the standard features you might expect from an Uptime Monitoring tool, plus a modern command-line interface, and a Terraform provider. Binocs gives makers 24/7 insight into the availability of the services they care for, and notifies them - via the usual communication channels such as SMS, Telegram or Slack - if any of these services become, for whatever reason, unavailable. Binocs monitors uptime, apdex and response time (broken down to its basic components) from any custom set of geolocations the user selects for each check. There is also the incidents overview with details about each historical incident. Binocs pricing 💰 is elastic. Users purchase credits in packs (larger packs are discounted) and spend credits based on the number of requests Binocs makes on their behalf. We welcome new users with 250k credits (and unlimited features), which is enought for operating e. g. 50 checks with 5 minute checking interval for 17 days, or 5 checks with 1 minute interval for more than a month, you get it. We have a Trello board full of features and tweaks. A new version comes out every few weeks. Upgrade of the CLI tool itself is as easy as `$ binocs upgrade`. 〰️〰️〰️ There are binaries available for all major platforms and architectures: https://binocs.sh/downloads Only an e-mail address is required to sign-up. Binocs uses passwordless authentication. Any feedback is much appreciated❣️ Thank you for your time looking at my first product on PH. I will be around today to answer any questions.

Update: Today I made it super simple to authenticate the CLI client. Make sure you upgrade to the latest version v0.7.1 by running `binocs upgrade`, and then just run `binocs login` and click on the provided link. That's it. No more passing around of secrets. We love and practice #passwordless authentication both on web and in CLI.
