The European Accessibility Act (EAA) is a directive that mandates that certain products and services essential for people with disabilities need to be accessible. The deadline for EAA compliance is June 28th 2025 (136 days from today). bili's story: bili came to be after 4 founders (an EU Legal Expert, a HR specialist, a dev and Saas salesperson) began to notice how little attention the upcoming EAA deadline was receiving. This reminded us of GDPR in 2018, when it went from a complete unknown to the top of everyone's agenda really quickly. We wanted to create a solution that would achieve three main objectives: 1. move accessibility from an afterthought to a 'non-negotiable' 2. make accessibility accessible for the world's workforce 3. highlight the benefits of accessibility (more customers, better SEO etc.) The more we learned about the a11y space, the more we understood how much work there is that needs to be done. As a UX designer accessibility is always on my mind but it can be tough to keep up with all the regulations.

@miele_brown thanks Miele! it was one of the best user tests we had with our UX testers. all sorts of things like reading age and pixel size was asked and out tech was able to give both the 'minimum' as well as the 'recommended/best practice' hope you are able to get valuable insights from the bili free trial
