Hey everyone!
Be is something that I created because I needed motivation that wasn't bogged down and convoluted.
With two taps, I can specify exactly what I want to "Be". If I want to be happy, I type in happy and turn it on. Every hour I will get a notification to be something. The possibilities are vast.
That's it. It is super simple and powerful. Give it a try and you will see what I mean.
It is absolutely great to be on Product Hunt. Love this community and everyone who contributes.
For future releases: for keywords like be focused, disabling access to the internet form the Mobile device (or atleast disabling product hunt :p)
Building a Android version anytime?
@urbanturbanguy That is a good idea, however, I want to keep Be as open as possible. What I mean by this, is that I want the user to feel that it fits perfectly into whatever they are trying to accomplish. I want it to supportive and non-obtrusive as possible.
For now, only iOS, but Android may be in the works soon.
Thank you for your suggestion, Gagan.
@nillles going to try this out, just as soon as I can find it in the App Store! In all seriousness, I'd *highly* recommend adding some other keywords to your app title. Perhaps "Be - simple motivation" or something like that. Yes, it lacks the Zen-like simplicity, but if it's the difference between people finding you and giving up after a search for "Be" returns 20 other apps before yours, I think it's worth it. In most cases, you'll only rank 1st (or near the top) for a common single word like "Be" after seeing a lot momentum in terms of downloads, reviews, usage, etc. I think Yo was an exception in that they generated so much buzz so quickly, they appeared #1 for the "Yo" search term almost immediately.
@msarlitt
Michael, thank you for your insight. I really appreciate your advice.
If Be does not go up higher in the search queue within 24 hours, I will add an easier to find title. The App Store's search algorithm is finicky, but I think it should go up in ranking by tomorrow.
I want to keep the simplicity of just "Be" because, like you said, it speaks to the nature of the app as a whole.
Thanks again.
@nillles cool, here's to hoping it does! If only Apple provided us with some search insights. It could come soon, being that they're opening up referral information with iOS 8, which I'm insanely excited about ;)
