Hey Product Hunters! We originally built BackHub to archive the repositories for closed projects in our agency and be able to restore them easily if needed. We made our service publicly available because we felt it would be useful for others. Soon we realised that most users just want backups. We did a big refactoring more recently, built upon GitHub Apps and launched on GitHub Marketplace, so you can easily book a plan with your GitHub account. BackHub for GitHub Marketplace is the product. It comes with new features, including the highly-requested daily backup snapshots for 30 days, as well as integrated GitHub billing. While it may seem unlikely that you lose data, even when forcing a push thanks to git reflog, but if things do get totally messed up, it's easy to restore from a backup. A backup also comes in handy for users on your team who are not as familiar with git. There are other scenarios that could potentially lead to loss of data, from rogue employee activity to accidentally deleting a repository when pulling another all-nighter. We also back up all metadata associated with a repository. Have you ever edited an issue and only after saving it realised that you screwed it up and all the data was gone? (It’s happened to me!) And because we put all our epics, stories, and mockups into GitHub issues, this can mean losing a lot of important information.
