The National Safety Council estimates that one-quarter of all vehicle collisions are due to phone use. AutoAdvisory 2.0 significantly reduces the risk of distracted driving by operating as a safe driving co-pilot. Using Bluetooth or via manual activation, the app advises the driver not to use their iPhone when driving is detected; continuously monitors your device to ensure it’s not unlocked during the trip, and provides feedback at the end of the trip—all while maintaining privacy and not affecting the functionality of your iPhone.
@nikkielizdemere There are fundamental differences in approach. iOS 11 will simply have the option to block notifications while driving, which will help to reduce distraction. AutoAdvisory encourages safe and attentive driving by advising the driver not to use their iPhone at the start of the trip, monitoring that their iPhone remains locked during the trip and rewarding good behavior at the end of the trip while recording safety statistics like the number of safe trips and distance. The driver can then choose to share their safe driving accomplishments on Twitter and Facebook. Apple and our approaches are complementary, although AutoAdvisory is available right now, supports iOS 9 and 10 devices, and offers a richer user experience than what is planned for iOS 11. And AutoAdvisory can be used to cue the driver to manually swipe DND ON/OFF at the start/end of their trip, if they so choose. AutoAdvisory effectively acts like a co-pilot for the driver.
