I think being able to create currencies on the fly is a very powerful idea. I was actually brainstorming with @levelsio about this last week and am prototyping a consumer-friendly alternative to what Assembly is working on here.
Currencies can be a way to quantify transactions that are already taken place. Imagine Product Hunt issuing PH coins based on the upvotes your submitted products and comments get. PH Coins can then be redeemed for cat t-shirts, shares in Product Hunt, or perhaps the submitted products. Tons of possibilities here.
@marckohlbrugge@levelsio No need to reinvent the wheel. You can use our API and build applications on top of it. The fun stuff is at a higher level of abstraction than the API anyway :)
@abarisser Good point. The prototype I'm working on is more a proof of concept than anything else, but I'll consider using the Assembly Coins API instead if it doesn't prove too difficult to implement.
Hello @abarisser , since the assembly project is offline , i was researching a bit and found this repo: https://github.com/sven-cremer/a... ,is this the first version of the API which run on Heroku? Peace
