I've been waiting for a product like this! 👏 I was wondering about the 3 goals limit - what's the background of it and can we expect this to become a setting or so?

@heiditaperson1 Thanks Heidi for this question! 3-goals per day comes from my own experience and I have heard from lots of other veteran remote workers the same thing that picking just 3 things to achieve each day gives the best long-term structure to your work + easily manageable. Also, the original Kanban methodology also says that you should limit the "work in progress" items to max 3-4 to keep focus and to be efficient. In Armadill webapp, me have also limited the "Today" column to max 3 items to enforce this "best practice".

Hey all good people of Producthunt! Quick overview of Armadill here: How it works: 1) you pick 3 priorities/goals for each day and report them to your team with a single click of a button. This forces you to be intentional with your day, you have to pick the right priorities to work on. This is not the place for keeping reminders of answering some emails or scheduling meetings. This is where you think about your quarterly goals and what you need to get done today to achieve them. 2) you work on these 3 goals and drag them to the "Done" column one-by-one. This sends an automatic alert to your team's dashboard that you have achieved something. It's great because you'll feel accomplished, you're moving the needle every day on stuff that actually matters vs being reactive with your work, your coworkers can congratulate you, you'll feel more aligned with your team's progress and most importantly you can end your workday once you have finished off your daily goals list. Why you and your team might need this tool? The 9-to-5 workday structure doesn't make sense for remote teams, replace it with a flow that embraces intentional results-driven work instead. Instead of spending 8+ hours in the office, the new expectation should be that you are very intentional with your daily goals and achieve at least 3 things every day. That's what's going to be making your company a big success over time and keeps your employees balanced. Another good reason - Replace daily or weekly status reporting meetings (I've heard that some companies are doing time-wasting Zoom calls just for going over what each team member is working on) with Armadill's simple workflow and save countless valuable work hours each week. Why we created Armadill? This launch is really exciting for me since it's a really cool passion project that hopefully helps lots of teams (that started working remotely due to the pandemic) to keep going with it and to enjoy all the benefits that remote work offers. I've been working in fully-remote companies for about 8 years and for the majority of that time I've also hired for and managed fully distributed teams. While most managers used to think that the biggest problem of remote work is that people won't work as much as in the office, the exact opposite is true - remote employees tend to lack proper structure and thus work too much and burn out. This workflow is the exact one that I have perfected with my teams over the years. It's embarrassingly robust and simple, but it saves a lot of time on status reporting, improves transparency, team alignment, and gives a really good structure for a single workday. We are super excited to learn more about how we can improve the product and give more value to remote teams. So please, please, please try it out and let us know how and if it helps you and your team in any way!

This mindlessly simple free web tool helps remote employees to have a better structure for their workdays by having to pick only 3 priorities for each day and working towards achieving them. It forces you to be intentional with your work priorities and provides an alternative for the typical 9-to-5 workday structure that's more typical for office-based companies. Great progress is made by moving the needle every single day and working on the right priorities in a really transparent way.
