AnyFit is is an app which provides customisable workouts for all levels. If your goal is to lose weight, build muscle or get fit, then AnyFit must be a great choice. Unlike the other fitness apps, it is completely free and the workouts can be adjusted to your level. In addition, a 3D trainer is implemented to make the user's progress smoother.
@craig_morris The two apps are actually different as one focuses on gym workouts and muscle groups and the other (this one) focuses on home workouts. The name does need a tweak but the idea that it is a "much better app" is subjective.
@craig_morris@harmswaychad Exactly, the purpose of my app was to provide the users with workouts which can be performed at home by just using their bodyweight. For me it was also important to submit a free app. The app name will be changed by the end of this week.
@craig_morris@harmswaychad@viktor_maric maker of Fitbod here (the other one). It's good to see others working to build great fitness products! This is exciting. Good luck and feel free to reach out if you need anything (though change the name ;)
I don't understand why app creators still go with just one platform (usually IOS first). I know it's more work to develop for both, but the reality is that you're excluding a large number of people who want to use your app. Even if you plan to do an android app, you can't expect people to keep tabs on every "android app coming eventually". I'm sorry to pick on you specifically, I just got really excited for this app and was very disappointed to realize I get to wait indefinitely because I apparently spent $800 incorrectly.
I guess this is more a note for PH: Please add a little icon or something in the daily emails so I don't bother looking at apps that I can't have.
@dreyes There are tons of reasons:
- the developer might only know Swift (iOS), or Java (Android)
- MVP! if you build both apps directly and it doesn't work, you will have lost 100% more time
- they have identified that their target is mostly using one platform (not really relevant for ios/android but could be for mac/windows)
- the app store generates 100% more revenue than google play even tho there are 2.5x more downloads on google play
- etc.
I can understand that you are disappointed but saying that you don't understand why someone would do that is unfair.
@mathieudutour you're right. There are many reasons for choosing to launch on a single platform and it was unfair of me to act like that isn't the case. It's just a bummer that it's pretty much always IOS. And idk what there is to be done about that, other than buy an iPhone.
@dreyes I understand what you are talking about, but the biggest problem is that both iOS and Android apps have to be programmed by the help of another programming language. I tried to find someone (who can program android apps) to collaborate with, and make the app together for both platforms. Well, it was much harder than I thought. I am a high school student, so it was hard to get into communities (in this not-well developed country) to reach out people who could help me with that. The other method I tried was to reach android developers via internet. The problem was that vast majority of these people just cost way too much (again, as a high school student, I could not afford it).
In conclusion, there is no magic to build great app for iOS and Android simultaneously by keeping their UI/UX features. In addition, individual creators are limited to their knowledge and budget.
Thank you for your comment, I feel sympathy for you! I wish it would be in a different way.
@viktor_maric me too. And I'm sorry for coming in hot with my negativity. It stems from the fact that it seems like a fantastic app and I wish I could have it. Keep up the great work and don't let grumps like me slow you down!
Exactly what I've been looking for. Though I don't have iPhone. Is Android app far away? If yes, would a simple website be an option for us non-iOS users? Cheers
@martinsanton I’m planning to make an android version for the app, but it will take some time for sure. The website method is a good advice, so I’ll keep it in my mind, although I can’t promise anything.
