Launching with a community for board game enthusiasts, allido will be a place for you to explore, collect, and discuss all of the activities you like to do - while providing features that will make your experiences more enjoyable and organized.
Hello Hunters!
I'm excited to finally announce allido to the world - and to say a few things about the state of the project now, and what I'm planning to do in the future.
I started working on allido about two years ago because I wanted a place where I could catalog and collect all of the things I enjoy doing into one site. This turned into a model that would group various hobbies into different services where users could discuss and explore their pastimes in user-content driven communities.
So I started with one of my favorite hobbies, board games! Currently, you can explore a large catalog of games and add them to your collection by favoriting, wishing, or marking them as owned. You can get a feel for the games with user submitted ratings, descriptions, and other details about the people who made the games, published them, or did the artwork for them.
This is just the start though, as I have a ton of other features in the works that will help to make this site stand out more against other board game sites. Things like being able to chat and schedule game nights with your friends, explore winning strategies and statistics about each game, and a way to compete with others. It is still a work in progress, and since the site is driven by user submitted content, it still needs to grow that community. I've done my best to provide content for some of the most popular and newest games, but I hope to see the content on the site grow over time.
I hope you enjoy allido, and I look forward to hearing your feedback! Now, what has been your favorite board game during the pandemic?
