Unlike weather, air quality can be harder to understand. That’s why Air Lookout presents actionable information in easy to understand language. Air Lookout works on iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, watchOS complications and now supports Shortcuts and iOS 14 Widgets.
@smikeyev Thanks for the question! Air Lookout will show air quality information based on the U.S. Air Quality Index and shows current, past and forecast readings. This reading is made from the measurement of a variety of common pollutants at a number of measurement stations across North America (and a few worldwide). There is also a widget that can get readings from any Purple Air sensor, which are small personally bought and deployed air quality sensors that read particulate matter.
While that can seem pretty complicated (and all that detailed information is available), Air Lookout will clearly show what actions you should adjust based on that AQI.
Hi Product Hunt!
I'm an indie developer working on simplifying air quality information. Today I'm launching Air Lookout 2.0.
Air quality can be hard understand. Air Lookout presents information in easy to understand language that helps users build qualitative experiences from quantitative data based on their local air quality.
I've been working nights and weekends on Air Lookout since 2015 and learned Swift and UIKit to make this app.
I'm looking forward to your feedback in the comments! If there's any questions about Air Lookout, air quality, iOS app design and dev, being an indie app dev, I'll do my best to answer them!
I've been using Air Lookout for a few months and appreciate its simplicity and clarity when it comes to the AQ near me. Air quality became a major issue for us in Portland, OR due to the wildfires this summer. I know Geof works hard to make this data as accessible and accurate as possible and I'm excited to see where this goes.
