Every time we switch context, it takes us way longer to finish a task at hand. Aerotime creates space for deep work by stacking your meetings together & enables you to prioritize your most important tasks, in flow. Done across team, it saves even more hours.
Thanks for hunting Aerotime, @mwseibel.
Hey PH community 👋
Hope everyone's doing good out there.
**OUR STORY**
We started building Aerotime when we realized that we were not able to do anything important during work hours and "real work" was forced after 5 pm.
My day as a product manager was going from one meeting to another. It’s not like there were a ton of meetings, just that they were spread out across the day creating these 30 min to 1 hour free time in between where no deep work was really possible. At the end of the day, I felt that nothing important was getting done. I saw myself writing PRDs and strategy docs post work hours just to catch-up. Urgent was taking over important.
@goeldhru resonated with this problem even as an engineer at Amazon who didn't have a lot of meetings. Why?
He was constantly distracted by trivial interruptions (a ping that didn’t need an instant response). This context switching made it hard for him to “zone in” on his work, causing him to code after work hours. Trivial interruptions were breaking the flow state.
**WHY WE NEED AEROTIME**
Our work life has become immensely better with tools that enable super fast collaboration - something we definitely need for teams to come together and succeed. But at the same time, it is also leading to loss of creative energy that is highly needed for tasks like writing code, designing, strategizing etc.
We believe best of both worlds is possible!
While our brains have an amazing ability to switch context, it leads to a 40% drop in productive time (ping me if you're interested in research around it).
Loss in productive time -> Long working hours (or delays in projects) -> Burnout and unhappiness. Time to fix it.
**HOW AEROTIME WORKS**
Create Space:
At the root, Aerotime tries to minimize context switches. We do this by clubbing similar meetings together, which creates large chunks of time available for deep work within working hours.
Prioritize:
On the space created, we help you visualize and prioritize your tasks by bringing them on calendar as time blocks.
Commit:
To make sure you commit to the task in hand - which is called being in flow:
- We snooze Slack notifications during that time curbing external distractions
- We give you focus music options that help in curbing internal distractions
Track:
Analytics on time fragmentation, burn out and other flow metrics to help you retrospect and improve.

Been using this for a while now and have found the service to be incredibly useful. If deep work matters to you and your team then try Aerotime out. @piyush_narwani - what other new features can we expect over the next couple of months?
@baboonzero Thanks for the trust, Anshumani.
Top two features to look out for:
1) We are bringing integrations with Jira and other tools to actually track productivity improvements and see what are the key reasons it suffers. You can't fix what you can't track.
2) We are building something that will cut down meetings overload. Yes, it is primarily driven by culture but nudges and key data points if used the right way can drive culture change as well :)
We're big believers in async work at Kitemaker and having big blocks of time for deep work is crucial for this. I think Aerotime is really onto something here. Especially people working in management in big organizations need to try it out 😁
@ksimons Completely agreed on deep work time. I also wanna call out, people continue to try and improve their work ethics but sometimes we need to fix systems around us for faster and better results. :D
