Don't you think that many people on PH ask unnecessary questions rather than intellectual ones?

There's a flood of discussion on PH, but I've found most of it to be repetitive, unnecessary, and unrelated to the industry. I came here to participate or learn something new, but I'm disappointed with those questions! What do you think of it?

this is true, not even PH on LinkedIn people post Irrelevant post which is very disappointing!
And so many are AI generated. Sigh!

That's clearly true, Nitin. I always try to either say something important (or relevant at least), or nothing at all. But with this stragy it's difficult to get many followers since I don't often have time to think what important things could be said on PH. Big problems with this "forum" that lead to repetitiveness: No subforums, no good search, only discussions started during the last day are shown by default.

@konrad_sx My motive aligns with yours! When I post something, it's usually because I have a question in mind that's relevant to the platform. However, fewer people tend to participate. 😁

This is true. But such discussions with "unnecessary" questions are generally much more popular.

@elenat Yeah, that's true. But now understand, using a website for a purpose other than it's intended for feels wrong. For example, these days, LinkedIn is being used as a social media platform like Facebook, with people sharing content that's out of context. That's my point.

Absolutely, not only that but it's easy to point out all the comments that are generated by AI. More than a bit disappointing if you're looking for real discussions.

@bcmcq yes! You've highlighted a genuine issue here! Nowadays, many people use ChatGPT or similar apps to write content for comments. How awful is this?

Not only are there unnecessary questions, but there are also many fake accounts using the profile pictures of Instagram influencers. It's like making PH the third Facebook, with LinkedIn being the second. LOL.

Yes, Nitin, I have also encountered numerous repetitive and unnecessary questions. I choose to ignore them.

@alyssaphillips Exactly! We must focus on learning rather than earning PH points or just for streaks. I would not skip a single day If something motivate me to access PH daily. what you think..?

I pretty much agree. I would love to see more threads about industry-related topics, but at the same time, I see they don't perform very well. Nonetheless if I find something interesting I'll reply :)

@pethron Yes! I come here daily not only to maintain my streak but also to engage with meaningful content shared by others. Learning from it and understanding how other users express their thoughts is what matters most to me.

I see a lot of repetitiveness on PH but I see tons of unnecessary questions on Twitter. People ask pointless philosophical questions to try and seem smart or contrarian. It makes it hard to stay active IMO.

This means that it is important to have discussions that are focused on the topic at hand and that are productive. Discussions that are simply about having discussions or that are used to promote products are often not as valuable.

I think it's because people come here with a purpose, usually centered around their product. I do want to see some deep dives though.
