It could be playing a small part, but I do think it's more to do with the economy more than anything else.

As a designer I would focus on taste, aesthetics and craft. Going to be hard for Ai to beat that. Companies will definitely flock to Ai to optimize for design speed but, everything will end up looking similar with repetitive UX patterns. To me, this means in the long term, it will be taste, aesthetics and craft that will be the big differentiator.
