Any Product Hunters expats living in another country? What do you like about your chosen home?

I'm American but have been living in Bilbao, Spain for 8 years now. For me the lifestyle is much better - more focus on social life, healthier food, etc. Though of course I miss the States a lot too. Are you an expat living in another country? Why did you choose that place and what made you stay?

I moved to the U.S. because I have always been attracted to America as a country. In my own state, I felt unwanted and feral. No wonder, because there is a high level of corruption, unemployment, crime, and a low standard of living. I was tired, so I decided to move to Europe. I have been there only for vacations in France, Italy, and Spain (which I absolutely liked). I was to Alicante and fell in love with the city. I stayed there for a month since I wasn't rushing, and had a lot of time for a vacation. I booked a pretty cheap apartment - https://happylife.es and didn't even want to come back home, because it already felt like home. The end of the story: after 9 months I moved to Alicante.)

@clair_birge Hi Clair, I hope you are feeling better in America. It definitely has its downfalls but has a lot of good points too. :)
