AI will not replace SEO, but rather, it will enhance it in the future. SEO continues to be essential, and its importance will only increase as digital space keeps developing. Businesses that acknowledge and adjust to this will thrive in future years. In essence, think of AI as an addition and SEO advancement, not a replacement.

What about when Search changes to an AI-first approach like Perplexity? Then optimization will change too and other criteria may be important than now. I guess I will se some kind of AI-Optimization in a couple of years to make your content attractive to Gen-AI searches.

@haribelafonte07 On the other hand, perplexity will be cherrypicking from SERP and cross-reference an answer. Hence I feel SEO will be more of a dependency to the LLM, right?

Isn't it the same thing? Perplexity and ChatGPT Search still use a search engine to gather the top urls (and the LLM summarizes them).
And the only way a page makes it to the "top urls" list is with SEO.

What AI tools do you use to enhance your SEO? It is like we should be using a lot of tools, it is challenging to concentrate everything in one, we might need to use different tools. Looking forward to checking yours!

@aaugoustis93 螘蠀蠂伪蟻喂蟽蟿蠋 蠁委位蔚! I build https://www.kwrds.ai with many neat features such as People Also Ask tool and Keyword Research tool. I would be a little hesitant to claim that we do it all, as every tool has different features that could be useful, so it's really up to you to determine usefulless. But please check it out and LMK what you think!

Isn't it that way that AI results are highly influenced by sources that are visible in Google? 馃 So more unique and valuable content should be "preferred" and indexed pages should be included as part of the result? (Today's chat GPT also shows the resources of information.)

@busmark_w_nika that鈥檚 an interesting point of view. It would almost be considered a circular dependency (or chicken and egg problem) the way you have put it
It's not possible, unless AI is live like in movies and can see zeptillions of data, analyze, make decisions.
Ai is a great support for SEO, but I don鈥檛 think it鈥檒l fully replace it. SEO will keep evolving, and those who adapt will thrive.
Nope, AI won鈥檛 replace SEO, but it鈥檒l enhance it! It's more about adding value to SEO than replacing it.
AI鈥檚 not replacing SEO anytime soon! I see it as a tool that'll make SEO even better, not wipe it out. Embrace it, and it鈥檒l only help your strategy.
In my point of view I dont think that AI will replace SEO
SEO will not be replaced by AI
AI is transforming the dynamics and accessibility of SEO, making it more intuitive and powerful than ever. It鈥檚 not about replacement but evolution鈥擜I isn鈥檛 taking over; it鈥檚 enhancing how we humans approach our work. Just like energy, which can鈥檛 be created or destroyed but only converted from one form to another, AI is reshaping our processes and amplifying human potential in new ways.

@utkarsh_upadhyay4 yeah I agree man. I see AI more of an enhancement to SEO, rather than a replacement
If SEOs do not update and continue to practice old-school SEO techniques, AI might only affect them. Otherwise, SEO will always be there. Its now a $88.91 billion industry
I don鈥檛 think AI will replace SEO鈥攊t鈥檚 only pushing it forward. With billions of Google searches daily and 15% being entirely new, AI is great for optimizing fresh and conversational queries, especially as voice search rises. Local SEO isn鈥檛 going anywhere, with nearly half of searches focused locally. AI can speed up things like keyword research and content generation, but SEO keeps a brand discoverable and real. It鈥檚 really about using AI to make SEO work smarter, not to replace it. Together, they鈥檙e a stronger force, helping brands stand out in a shifting digital world.

@damera_prithvi yeah I agree. I am still not sure how鈥檚 the equilibrium between these two it鈥檚 going to look like in a number of years from now
